Deepak Minhas, BSc, PLA (Hon)
Provisional Psychologist
Deepak Minhas holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Sciences from the University of Alberta, and a Legal Assistant Diploma from CDI College. She is also a published author, having written No Straight Lines and One Day at a Time, which explore themes of mental health within the South Asian community through poetry, prose, and short stories. Her literary work delves into complex issues such as homophobia, gender identity, and postpartum depression, both in Canada and India. Through her deep exploration of character narratives, Deepak developed a profound appreciation for personal stories, leading her to pursue a career in counselling.


Areas of Focus/Specialties
Deepak’s therapeutic approach is compassionate, culturally informed, and evidence-based, with a focus on creating a safe and supportive space for her clients to process their lived experiences. She specializes in areas such as dual-identity conflict, grief and loss, and domestic and dating violence, helping individuals navigate challenges with empathy and understanding. Deepak is committed to empowering her clients to take control of their lives, fostering hope, self-acceptance, and personal growth. She has successfully completed her Master’s degree and is currently in the process of registering as a Provisional Psychologist in Alberta.
