Ashley Cavers

Canadian Certified Counsellor (License number 11246492)

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor working in Alberta. I began my journey into the mental health field through volunteer experience on Crisis Lines in Calgary. Following this experience, I received my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, where I additionally completed an 8-month practicum at the Centre for Mental Health and Addictions. Since graduating, I have continued my education, learning to work with various modalities, and embarking on couples work as well. I've worked in both the public and private sectors and am dedicated to helping others grow and thrive, which keeps me moving in my career and my mission to positively impact people's lives.

Areas of Focus/Specialties

I have experience working with individual adults and couples from various backgrounds. I have worked with many different issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, relationships, and transitional life periods. I take a holistic approach to counselling, emphasizing all aspects of an individual's life and promoting collaboration to work with clients to meet each person's unique needs.

My practice is characterized by a client-centred philosophy, emphasizing the importance of tailoring techniques to each individual's unique needs in a nonjudgmental, safe, and open environment. I incorporate a range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioural strategies, strengths-based approaches, emotionally-focused approaches, dialectical behavioural therapeutic approaches, and mindfulness.
